Air­line and ho­tel news from around the world

MORE AIR­PORTS ARE WEL­COM­ING on-site ho­tels at­tached di­rectly to the ter­mi­nals. The new­est ter­mi­nal ho­tel in the US is the 300-room In­ter­con­ti­nen­tal Min­neapo­lis-St. Paul Air­port. It joins the ranks of on-air­port ho­tels at Hous­ton’s Ge­orge Bush In­ter­con­ti­nen­tal, Bos­ton Lo­gan, Philadel­phia In­ter­na­tional, Chicago O’Hare, Den­ver In­ter­na­tional, Dal­las/Fort Worth, Or­lando and Mi­ami.

The Westin Detroit Met­ro­pol­i­tan Air­port Ho­tel is fresh off a $15-mil­lion ren­o­va­tion, and the rede­vel­op­ment of Eero Saari­nen’s iconic TWA Flight Cen­ter at JFK In­ter­na­tional Air­port will de­but in 2019. Other new ter­mi­nal ho­tels on the draw­ing board in­clude a Grand Hy­att at San Fran­cisco In­ter­na­tional, also sched­uled to open in 2019, and an In­ter­con­ti­nen­tal Ho­tel slated to de­but in 2020 at At­lanta Harts­field-Jack­son In­ter­na­tional.
