SAN JOSE MINETA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT will soon become the first airport on the West Coast to implement 100 percent facial screening to verify the identity of all arriving and departing travelers on international flights. According to a statement from the airport, the technology will both enhance security and expedite the passenger screening process at customs checkpoints.

Orlando International Airport is the only other US airport to commit to using the technology for international passengers. Los Angeles, San Diego, Atlanta, Miami, JFK, and Houston airports also use facial recognition to identify passengers, but on arriving flights only.
