Things are looking a bit bet­ter for Cal­gary’s strug­gling apart­ment condo sec­tor — at least, that’s what Gen­worth Fi­nan­cial Canada says. “Apart­ment con­do­minium starts will re­gain strength as 2009 pro­gresses, fu­elled by stronger ab­sorp­tion de­mand and a mod­est de­crease in un­ab­sorbed in­ven­to­ries,” says a re­port on the na­tional condo mar­ket. By the time this year is over, construction starts are ex­pected to be less than 900 units and will move up to 1,190 in 2010 — and move “gen­tly higher” there­after
