Inglewood townhome features dazzling kitchen
Craftsmanship carries subtle, welcome touches
Sleek and modern, yet grounded with natural textures. SoBow’s 1912Cross new show suite shows these characteristics to full advantage.
The two-bedroom, two-bathroom home offers 914-square feet of space, the smallest of the two-bed-and-bath options. This unit presents open-concept living space in the kitchen and great room, which makes the most of the natural light coming through the wall of windows to one side.
The wide-plank European white oak engineered hardwood flooring softens space and ties into the wood edging on the kitchen countertops at the far side of the main room. The stainless steel tab drawer pulls, Cantrio Koncept stainless steel sinks and industrial-style pullout faucets give the kitchen a clean, modern aesthetic. Upper cabinets are an option. Here, the kitchen is shown without the optional cabinets. Steel rods with long hooks provide unfettered access to key kitchen tools such as flippers, tongs and slotted spoons. A hanging knife block keeps the cutting edges close at hand, while a short hanging shelf is home to frequently-used seasonings.
Deep drawers offer excellent storage space below the L- shaped counter along the wall as well as the central island.
Next to the kitchen is a long storage room, with room for further pantry items if required, plus the laundry.
The great room offers ample space for entertaining, should the party spill out of the kitchen area. The bedrooms and bathrooms are located down a short hallway, giving some privacy for personal space.
To the left is the main bathroom, with a shower and tub. To the right is the second bedroom, here presented as an off ice with a couch that could serve to host an overnight guest.
At the end of the hall is the master bedroom with large windows to provide maximum natural light. The master ensuite has a luxurious feel, with porcelain tile flooring, white subway tile in the oversized shower and sleek f ixtures. The open rollers holding the glass shower doors mimic the barn- door style doors elsewhere in the home.
Storage space in the bedrooms is provided in movable armoire units that can be separated or lined up as the owner wishes.
1912Cross offers loft studios as well as one-, two- and three- bedroom suites. It has two- storey loft townhomes, garden townhomes and penthouse suites. Possessions are available this fall. A townhome show home will soon be available for viewing.
