Resource network is here to help

-

The Community Gardens Resource Network beautifies Calgary neighbourhoods, brings people together and helps community gardens grow.

The Calgary Horticultural Society project provides resources, expertise, collaborative connections, support and startup assistance for new and established community gardens.

As an ongoing benefit to community gardeners, the resource network offers Kitchen Table Talks programs, held at the Calgary Horticultural Society office one evening each month. The talks are educational small- group discussions hosted by resource network members to help community gardeners.

The discussions cover everything from succession planning on the garden team, to beauty in the community garden, preventing theft and vandalism and enhancing the experience for member gardeners.

When people become a member of the Calgary Horticultural Society, they support a wide range of educational programs for gardeners, including the resource network.

“Take out a membership in the Calgary Horticultural Society and you will be supporting the educational programs for community gardens,” says Gael Blackhall, Community Gardens Resource Network co- ordinator.
