Satel­lite com­mu­ni­ties see sales dip in Oc­to­ber

Each month, the Cal­gar y Real Es­tate Board puts a fo­cus on hous­ing mar­kets in three of Calg a r y ’s nei g hbour­ing com­mu­ni­ties. Here’s how the fig­ures added up in Oc­to­ber.

n The mar­ket con­tin­ues to see de­clin­ing sales and in­creas­ing in­ven­tory com­pared to last year. El­e­vated sup­ply lev­els have led to lower bench­mark prices for de­tached homes.

n To­tal year-to-date sales are 1,032 homes, 11 per­cent be­low last year. Year to date, new list­ings have re­mained rel­a­tively sta­ble, but re­main well above long-term av­er­ages.

n In­ven­tory year to date is 19 per­cent higher than usual, with months of sup­ply at six. The year-to-date value of sin­gle-fam­ily homes now sits at $370,880, a year-over-year de­cline of nearly two per­cent.
