DEVIL IN THE DETAILS

Calgary Sun - - COMMENT -

It occurs to me that in order for the taxpayers to pass any judgment on whether Mr. Nenshi has handled the arena file appropriately or reasonably, the taxpayers require the details as to what this city’s beloved Flames are offering. Furthermore, in order for the taxpayers to pass judgment on Mr. Nenshi, these same taxpayers should be offered the details on what exactly the city is demanding. It is only then can taxpayers make an informed decision at the ballot box in October. This latest statement from the Flames is clearly meant to sway the voters in the upcoming election against Mr. Nenshi. I am certainly not a supporter of Mr. Nenshi; however, I am willing to give the man his due, rather than be swayed by the media apparently intent on taking this opportunity to launch another attack on his worship. I, for one, feel I deserve the full story. Perhaps the Flames are indeed demanding too much? I am an ardent fan of NHL hockey, but not at absolutely all costs.

CRAIG COULSON (You are right, the people need to know the details of the latest proposal. We have heard nothing since the CalgaryNEXT unveil.)
