Girlish good looks?

Canada's History - - THE PACKET -

It’s curious how female authors [“Great Women,” February- March 2016] used descriptors such as “handsome woman,” “slim and attractive woman,” “woman with the face of an angel,” and “radiantly beautiful” to illustrate the important contributions their subjects made to Canadian history and culture. If physical characteristics define our perception of worthiness, we still have a long way to go before we achieve gender equality. David Thompson Ottawa
