Well, not ex­actly — even though Vik­ing women had more le­gal rights than many of their con­tem­po­raries in other parts of Europe. For in­stance, Vik­ing women could in­herit prop­erty, ask for a di­vorce, and even re­claim their dowries if their mar­riages ended.
