What’s important now?

“From now on, you’ll experience a culmination of all the skin changes that happened in your 50s,” says Dr. Humphrey. Wrinkles will deepen, folds and sagging will increase, skin will feel even drier and you may experience more sun spots. Hair grows much slower, and in some cases, the follicles may be producing smaller, thinner hairs.

What should you be doing?

Every decade your body decreases its ability to repair itself, points out Dr. Newell, so it’s more important than ever to make sure you have a healthy diet. Even so, since your stomach won’t absorb vitamins and minerals from food as well as it once did, take a multivitamin designed for your age. Stay hydrated and remain active; use products that promote healthy aging, not reverse it.

WITH THE ADVANTAGE OF WISDOM, YOUR RETIREMENT YEARS ARE SOME OF THE HAPPIEST OF YOUR LIFE. STRESS HAS ALL BUT DISAPPEARED, AND ONE OF YOUR BIGGEST CONCERNS IS COPING

WITH AGE-RELATED HEALTH AILMENTS.
