7 Eyesores, such as a/c units, neighbouring structures, utility poles

Canadian Gardening Annual 2016 - - How-to -

Screening and a bit of magic are the solutions to objects marring your view. Surround air-conditioning units, garbage bins or unsightly utility boxes with solid or lattice panels that are decorative and can also be used to support vines or planter boxes. Keep one side open or hinged to access the unit. An evergreen tree or a couple of good-sized shrubs can screen a neighbouring garage, shed or parked RV. For bigger, taller problems like utility poles, use the magician’s key tactic: distraction. Install a colourful planting or eye-catching feature, such as a sculpture or fountain, to draw attention away from the offending pole.
