PHOTO BY PETER MATHER A wolverine travels through the northern Yukon winter night to feed again on a caribou carcass on the bank of Tombstone Territorial Park’s Blackstone River. The frozen remains helped sustain the carnivore for more than a month, and even as the spring melt buried the caribou in overflow ice, the wolverine dug through to continue feeding.
