Jodi Hilty, pres­i­dent and chief sci­en­tist of the con­ser­va­tion or­ga­ni­za­tion Yel­low­stone to Yukon, ex­presses con­cern about how pro­posed changes to the U.S. En­dan­gered Species Act could af­fect trans­bor­der car­ni­vores with low pop­u­la­tion den­si­ties, such as griz­zly bears. In July, the Trump ad­min­is­tra­tion pro­posed sev­eral changes that could weaken the act and its abil­ity to im­ple­ment reg­u­la­tions.
