GLAZED CHEDDAR PORK BURGERS
MAKES 4 SERVINGS HANDS-ON TIME 25 MINUTES TOTAL TIME 35 MINUTES
Patties Stir together 1 tbsp water, egg, cheddar, bread crumbs, garlic, sage, salt and pepper; mix in pork. Shape into four ¾-inch thick patties.
Whisk together mustard, maple syrup and vinegar; set aside.
Skewer onion slices through edges to keep rings intact. Brush both sides with oil; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place on greased grill over medium heat; close lid and grill, turning once, until tender, about 10 minutes. Remove skewers and separate into rings.
Meanwhile, place patties on grill; close lid and grill for 5 minutes. Turn and brush with half of the mustard mixture; close lid and grill for 5 minutes. Turn and brush with remaining mustard mixture; close lid and grill until instant-read thermometer inserted sideways into centre reads 160°F, about 5 minutes. Serve in buns with onions.
