What holiday traditions are you looking forward to? And how will this year be different for you?

-

AM: I’m looking forward to coming home to Canada and spending time with my friends and family. I have one normal tradition and one not-so-normal one. The normal one is watching It’sawonderfullife with my folks by the Christmas tree in front of the fire…and crying my eyes out. The other one is opening stockings with my extended family. There’s always a pair of underwear in each stocking, which has resulted in our annual underwear-on-the-head photo. The difference this year will be focusing on being together and that’s what I’m looking forward to the most. CO: My mom and dad came up with the best tradition and my husband and I repeated it with our kids. At bedtime on Christmas Eve my siblings and I would hear bells outside my parents’ bedroom window. My mom would say, “Santa’s here. He’s come early to bring you pajamas.” We’d hear her speaking to Santa—never knowing it was my dad!—then she’d come out, hand us our pj’s, we’d put them on and excitedly go to bed. This year, my hope is to be with my family and as many of my six siblings as possible. We’ll also watch It’sa Wonderfullife, just like Annie and her family, and cry our eyes out.
