For over 20 years, Asics has leaned heavily on its popular (and super soft) Gel technology in its running shoes. With the FuzeX, a totally new model, the brand introduces FuzeGel. This new midsole material, you guessed it, fuses together their patented gel and EVA foam. The result is supposed to be a snappy return immediately after ground contact, making for a super responsive ride that is nevertheless soft and bouncy.
The FuzeX is a noticeably different looking shoe than what we’re used to from Asics. It’s a lower profile, more stripped-down esthetic, with strong single-tone colourway options in men’s and women’s. The upper is constructed of mostly heavier glued components, which make it somewhat inflexible, requiring a few runs to break in.
