Canadian Running - - GOLDEN SHOE AWARDS -

At the Rio Olympics Andre De Grasse became Usain Bolt’s heir apparent as the next great generational track athlete, and a global star. De Grasse went toe-to-toe with the fastest man on Earth and earned himself three medals (a silver and two bronze), along with some extraordinary social media hyped moments. De Grasse also ran a national record in the 200m, arguably his best event, and anchored the men’s 4x100m relay team to a long sought-after podium finish and another national record. With De Grasse, Canada has a transcendent track star that will go into the 2020 Games as the man to beat in the 100m and 200m.
