Where to run

For a longer run, start in FALSE CREEK and take the CENTRAL VALLEY GREENWAY bike path east along GREAT NORTHERN WAY. You will pass by the East Van Cross, that has been appropriated in many ways over the years. It is a must to visit. The public art, by Ken Lum, signifies the rich and changing culture of East Van. Continue east, and take a quick detour around TROUT LAKE before heading back out on the Central Valley Greenway.

Take a cruise along NEW BRIGHTON PARK which was originally called Hastings Townsite, before incorporating into Vancouver in 1910. Continue east along the bike path where you will find the TRANS-CANADA TRAIL, which leads you to a secret tree house. On your way back west, cut through the PACIFIC NATIONAL EXHIBIT GROUNDS to pass by SANCTUARY POND e, and look for some urban fishermen. Continue west along TRINITY STREET especially over the winter holidays, as each house contributes to transforming the street into a breathtaking light festival.
