Editor’s Pick: Best New Shoe The Roadhawk FF is one of the key shoes in Asics’s overhaul of their hardcore running shoe lineup. This lightweight, no fuss trainer/racer incorporates Asics’s fantastic new midsole, Flytefoam. This new technology is constructed with Kevlar, a material that's known to be incredibly durable yet malleable meaning Flytefoam is going to take a beating for a very long time and continue to perform like day one (our testers are still running on the demo models we received in 2016). The feel underfoot is soft – almost squishy, but not a sloppy ride at all, and quite snappy upon toe-off.
The Roadhawk is a nice companion another of Asics’s Flytefoam-outfitted shoes: the DynaFlyte. Together, they form an impressive tandem of lightweight neutral shoes, with t he Roadhawk actually providing a subtle amount of medial support due to its slightly built up midsole around the instep. It is also the best value of any shoe we tested this fall.
