The FuelCore Quick v3 is aptly named, as it’s designed for shorter, explosive efforts. While the shoe is remarkably versatile, it’s aimed primarily as a solid intro to running, and can do double duty in the gym performing well in a variety of tasks. Where the FuelCore Quick v3 really excelled was in short interval training, and during easy 30– 60 minute runs.

The upper employs a version of New Balance’s excellent FantomFit design that both looks sharp and supports the foot during aggressive movement. The shoe also looks great, with a clean modern attitude that works well as a casual shoe as much as it does a trainer. The midsole is rather thin and firm, which is of course ideal for what it’s designed to do: move powerfully and quickly for shorter periods.
