Slow Cooker Sloppy Joes

1 ½ lb. lean ground beef or bi­son ½ medium onion, diced 1 medium red bell pep­per, cored, seeded and diced 1 x 15-oz. can tomato sauce ½ cup ketchup 2 tbsp brown sugar, packed 1 tsp Worces­ter­shire sauce 1 tsp dry ground mus­tard ½ tsp gar­lic pow­der ½ tsp kosher salt N tsp ground black pep­per 6 ham­burger buns (for serv­ing)

Direc­tions

1 Pre­pare all the in­gre­di­ents (dice the pep­per and onion, mea­sure all the in­gre­di­ents etc.) and place them into a 4-quart slow cooker. 2 Mix thor­oughly so all of the in­gre­di­ents are well com­bined. 3 Cover and cook; 2–3 hours on high, or 6–8 hours on low. 4 Once cooked, halve the buns and di­vide the meat mix­ture be­tween all six buns. 5 Serve im­me­di­ately. NOTE: freezes well, or can re­frig­er­ated in an air­tight con­tainer for up to four days.
