Myles Misener-Da­ley sets na­tional U18 400m record at OF­SAA

Myles Misener-Da­ley, 17, of Hamilton, Ont., set the na­tional U18 400m record at of­saa (On­tario Fed­er­a­tion of School Ath­letic As­so­ci­a­tions) in June at 45.99. The grade eleven stu­dent won both the 200m and 400m in 2017, and de­fended his ti­tles suc­cess­fully in 2018. Misener-Da­ley will com­pete in the U18 Ja­maica In­vi­ta­tional, as well as the World Ju­nior Cham­pi­onships this sum­mer, and he hopes to run close to the Olympic stan­dard of 45.50 by the end of his sea­son. Misener-Da­ley is among a group of young ath­letes who are mak­ing his­tory and break­ing records in Cana­dian track and field. Jo­ce­lyn Chau, 18, of Toronto, broke the of­saa 3,000m record in June. Chau has ac­cu­mu­lated 11 medals dur­ing her of­saa ca­reer. She will at­tend Yale University in the fall.
