Grade 8 stu­dents of Lisa Roach’s class at St. Michael Ju­nior High in Glace Bay pose with some of the items they they pur­chased af­ter fundrais­ing to adopt less for­tu­nate fam­i­lies from the Ev­ery Woman's Cen­tre and pal­lia­tive care pa­tients from the Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Hospi­tal. Stu­dents who par­tic­i­pated but who were not in class when the pic­ture was taken in­clude Jor­dan Bray, Roy Karam, Chris Karam and Jamie Oliver. This was the 13th year that Roach's class has par­tic­i­pated in the adopt-a-fam­ily pro­gram and the sixth year for the pal­lia­tive care pro­gram. This year the stu­dents adopted 13 chil­dren as well as one pa­tient and two pets.
