First-time author tells true story of harrowing trip to Africa
about a selfish undertaking that led him into a corrupt world.
“ When we got there it was like we made it, but that was just the beginning.”
His harrowing journey took place about 14 years ago, but he only recently decided to write about it.
“I decided to go through the whole thing in my mind, which can raise a lot of different mixed emotions. The idea was just to get it on paper. I don’t mind talking about it now because it is in the past now.”
Most of the 100 copies he had printed were sold in about three weeks. Since then he’s been receiving some positive feedback to his work.
“ When I first wrote it I thought people were paying me lip service. Then it went on to a broader base and people who don’t know you tell you they couldn’t put it down.”
Morrison plans to polish his story and then approach a publisher about a larger distribution in the near future.
