Mayflower Mall pro­mo­tion to help Heart and Stroke Foun­da­tion

SYD­NEY — Cupid will be on hand at the Mayflower Mall, Satur­day, Feb. 13, to help with the mall’s Love Me Do Valen­tines pro­mo­tion in sup­port of the Heart and Stroke Foun­da­tion.

Peo­ple are be­ing in­vited to sub­mit a pic­ture of them­selves with their loved one along with a pledge of $2. The pic­tures will be dis­played at the mall and on Feb. 13, Cupid’s ar­row will strike the dis­play.

The owner of the pic­ture hit by Cupid’s ar­row will win a one-night stay at the Keltic Lodge Re­sort and Spa, din­ner and break­fast for two, and a $200 spa credit.

Vol­un­teers from the Heart and Stroke Foun­da­tion will also be on hand pro­vid­ing in­for­ma­tion on heart dis­ease and stroke, as well as re­search on car­dio­vas­cu­lar dis­ease.

“Heart dis­ease and stroke are re­spon­si­ble for one in three deaths in Canada each year,” said Tracey Pierre, the foun­da­tion’s pro­gram co-or­di­na­tor in Cape Bre­ton. “By part­ner­ing with the Mayflower Mall, we hope to bring aware­ness to our door-to-door cam­paign that is hap­pen­ing dur­ing Fe­bru­ary.”

The dead­line for on­line photo sub­mis­sions is Feb. 11 at 5 p.m. Pic­tures may also be de­liv­ered to the mall no later than 4 p.m. on Feb. 12.
