Police officer recieves minor injuries in crash
— A Cape Breton Regional Police Service officer received minor injuries as a result of a minor accident Thursday.
Watch commander Staff Sgt. Paul Muise said the accident happened on King Edward Street at 5:45 p.m. while the officer was stopped on the side of the road.
According to Muise, the driver of an approaching vehicle failed to stop and hit the back of the cruiser.
Muise said the two drivers, both men, were taken to hospital where they were treated for minor injuries and later released.
He said driver inattention is believed to be a cause of the accident.
