Hard time it isn’t

Cape Breton Post - - COMMENT -

Could someone please explain to me what was Darren Muise’s punishment? He was convicted and sentenced to 20 years to life for the cold-blooded murder of Neil Burroughs Jr.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but here was his punishment: three meals a day; warm bed and roof over his head; access to TV, phone, computer and gym; free health and dental care and free education; free to go out in our communities; free to have a social life, have relationships and date.

I’ve saved the best for last: he works five days a week with our most precious gift – handicapped children.

Now explain to me how the punishment fits the crime. There is an old saying, what is the world coming to; but now it should read: “Look what our world has come to.” Irene Morris Sydney Mines
