SYD­NEY — In Nova Sco­tia Fe­male Midget ‘ AAA’ Hockey League semi­fi­nal action over the week­end, the Cape Bre­ton Fer­gu­son’s Phar­maChoice Scream­ing Ea­gles won their se­ries with the Pro Crest­ing Pen­guins and the Metro Bos­ton Pizza forced a yet-to-besched­uled Game 5 with two vic­to­ries over the Sub­way North­ern Storm. Re­becca Hol­stead and Me­gan Cameron.

In nets, Chantel Mar­shall made 28 saves in the win, while Sabrina Ran­court turned aside 20 shots in the de­feat. Game 4 at Cen­tre 200, Satur­day, saw the Pen­guins nip the Ea­gles 3-2 in over­time.

Emily Rid­dle and Stephanie Gates pot­ted sin­gles for the Pen­guins, while their team­mate Raelee Rath recorded the over­time win­ner.

Car­rissa Carey and Janelle Foster found the back of the net for the home squad.

In goal, Ran­court recorded 11 saves in the victory, while Mar­shall de­flected 27 shots in the loss. Game 4 of the sec­ond league semi­fi­nal se­ries saw the Metro Bos­ton Pizza blank the Sub­way North­ern Storm 2-0 at the Keat­ing Mil­len­nium Cen­tre in Antigonish, Sun­day, to tie the se­ries 2-2.

Moira Frier pot­ted both Metro goals.

Be­tween the pipes, Ste­fan­nie Moak posted the shutout and Melinda Par­sons shoul­dered the loss. Game 3 of the same se­ries saw Lind­say James score twice in the Metro girls’ 2-1 victory over the Storm at the Dr. Bernie MacLean Recre­ation Cen­tre in In­ver­ness, Satur­day.

Mag­gie Beaton net­ted the lone North­ern marker.

In nets, Emma Craw­ley was cred­ited with the win and Par­sons posted the de­feat.
