Now in its 36th year, the ceremony is hosted by Recreation Nova Scotia in conjunction with Provincial Volunteer Week, and will take place at the Westin Nova Scotia on April 12. There, volunteers representing community organizations and grassroots projects from across the province, will be recognized for donating their time to build stronger neighbourhoods.

“ This is an opportunity to truly recognize and thank those who volunteer their time to make incredible things happen in our communities,” Clarke said Monday.

Nomination categories include youth, family, corporate and model community Volunteers of the Year awards. Deadline for submissions is March 4, 2010.
