RED DEER, Alta. (CP) — Stymied when it came to picking a name for their soon-to-be-born baby, a couple from Stettler, Alta., are resorting to a web raffle to settle the issue.

“Time’s ticking away,” says Melissa Zimmermann, who is 28 weeks pregnant. “I’m getting closer and closer to my due date, and getting more and more panicked.”

The 23-year-old says she and her husband tried everything, even baby-naming websites, but nothing struck them as right.

“It’s our second baby . . . and we picked the perfect name for the first one (Carter) and couldn’t pick a name for the second one,” says Zimmermann.

So she posted the rules for the contest on her photography business’s blog — no names ending in X or Z or N, for instance.

But the rules aren’t iron-clad and on March 1 she’ll randomly pick a name, with the winner receiving a $50 gift certificate for photography.

“I don’t guarantee I’ll use whatever name I pick,” says Zimmerman.
