Hearing set for June
SYDNEY — An Eskasoni woman facing charges including attempted murder in connection with an alleged home invasion will be in provincial court June 29 for a preliminary hearing.
Cynthia Irene Paul, 18, is also charged with break and enter with intent to commit an aggravated assault and theft of alcohol in relation to the incident. A preliminary hearing determines whether there is sufficient evidence to send the matter to trial.
She remains free on a recognizance. The conditions of her release remain in effect, including that she not have any contact with Dale Clifford Young, or her father, the coaccused, Sylvester Joseph Paul.
Young suffered injuries to his face and neck believed to have resulted from being beaten and stabbed.
Both father and daughter were arrested by Eskasoni RCMP shortly after a 911 call was made to report an injured person Nov. 29.
