Shop­pers at the Mayflower Mall will be so­licited to pur­chase a car­na­tion to be posted upon a heart in recog­ni­tion of the loss of their loved one. Re­fer­ring to Valen­tines Day, this is known as the Heal­ing Heart Cam­paign. Pro­ceeds to Be­reaved Fam­i­lies of Cape Bre­ton. 9-10 a.m. Se­niors swim­ming at Ki­wa­nis Pool, Prince Street. 10:30 a.m., (CD) Al­cano Group at Christ Church Hall, 21 Trin­ity Ave. 1-3 p.m., High Fi­bre lunches at McCon­nell Li­brary. All crafters work­ing with any type of fi­bre, drop in to the li­brary and join oth­ers for con­ver­sa­tion and work on your fi­bre project. Knit­ters, cro­cheters, quil­ters, rug hook­ers, em­broi­der­ers, spin­ners, pa­per artists at all lev­els are wel­come.

1:30 p.m. Darts at Club 55. 1:30 p.m., Ac­cep­tance AFG will meet at Angli­can Church of Christ, The King Hall, Trin­ity Av­enue. 7 p.m., Valen­tine sup­per and dance at the Steelworkers and Syd­ney Pen­sion­ers’Club, 30 Inglis St. Mu­sic by In the Mood, Keith and Her­man. Reser­va­tions only.

7 p.m., Valen­tine Gala with Alvin and the Ar­ti­facts, Trin­ity United Church Hall. Lunch served.
