Following Thursday’s performance, everyone was treated to cookies and juice.

“ This is such a great day for the veterans and seniors,” said Wilhelmus van Hal, recreation coordinator with the Harbour View Hospital veterans unit. “For our veterans and seniors to be able to sit and listen to these young voices and see their enthusiasm as they perform, it’s really something. You can tell from their performance that the kids really enjoy it as well.”

Branch 126 supplies the veterans’ names for the cards and also pays for the bus which transports the students to Harbour View.

“ We appreciate the co-operation of everyone involved in making this happen each year,” McPhail said. “ There is so much enjoyment for the veterans and seniors, for that reason we’ll keep doing it as long as we can.”
