Har­vest House is a reg­is­tered char­i­ta­ble or­ga­ni­za­tion that reaches into com­mu­ni­ties to of­fer help to those in need and is in­tended to com­ple­ment the work of churches within the com­mu­nity. Melvin Sang­ster is the co-or­di­na­tor.

In Glace Bay they pro­vide a drop-in cen­tre which is open 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m., five days a week.

“ We are open dur­ing the day and of­fer free cof­fee and tea. Some peo­ple who are re­tired even come by for fel­low­ship.”

There is cloth­ing avail­able free of charge for any­one in need.

MacNeil said they hold Bi­ble study ses­sions dur­ing the week. Wed­nes­day and Fri­day nights they hold fel­low­ship times at 7 p.m. MacNeil pro­vides en­ter­tain­ment, play­ing the gui­tar and singing. Spe­cial events are held through­out the year and are open to the pub­lic.
