Cape Breton Post - - NORTHSIDE/VICTORIA -

BRAS D’OR — Youth from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bras d’Or will soon be out in the community collecting donations for THINKfast, a 25-hour education and fundraising fast where youth can learn more about global issues and help those in the third world countries to build a better life.

The funds support the work of Development and Peace’s partners in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.

The THINKfast

program, March 12 and 13, includes interactive activities and games on justice and faith, prayers and liturgies and multimedia presentations.

“THINKfast is more than just a fast,” said Sharon Voutier, faith formation person with St. Joseph’s. “Along with teaching youth how to fast, the program will also touch on various topics such as sustainable agriculture and how food is produced. It is a set program that focuses on education.”
