Nova Sco­tia Snow­board As­so­ci­a­tion pre­par­ing for its visit to Ski Ben Eoin this week­end.

SYD­NEY — Ski Ben Eoin will be the site for pro­vin­cial snow­board­ing, Satur­day and Sun­day.

The Nova Sco­tia Snow­board As­so­ci­a­tion com­pe­ti­tion will in­clude four events, in­clud­ing two pro­vin­cial se­ries events, the Ben Eoin Snow­board­cross and Ol­lie Around/Bur­ton Slope Style com­pe­ti­tion and the RBC Rid­ers events in both snow­board­cross and slope style.

The pro­vin­cial se­ries events are open to all rid­ers over the age of 11 and fea­ture men’s and women’s cat­e­gories in four age groups. The RBC Rid­ers pro­gram is open to rid­ers with one to three years of ex­pe­ri­ence, ages 814. The pro­gram is a skill de­vel­op­ment pro­gram that was de­signed to fill the gap in the avail­abil­ity of grass­roots com­pet­i­tive snow­board­ing events. It has grown to be the na­tional event se­ries for young rid­ers, com­bin­ing the ba­sics of snow- board­ing with fun-filled com­pe­ti­tion.

All rid­ers are re­quired to have a Canada Snow­board mem­ber­ship for both the pro­vin­cial se­ries and RBC Rid­ers events. Canada Snow­board mem­ber­ships must be pur­chased on­line at www.canadasnow­ be­fore the event at a cost of $20.

The pro­vin­cial se­ries re­quires com­peti­tors to hold an NSSA com­peti­tors li­cense, which can be pur­chased at the regis­tra­tion ta­ble for $20 be­tween 8:30-9:30 a. m. the day of the event. Hel­mets are manda­tory for all events.
