Ar­rest fol­lows as­sault

WAG­MAT­COOK — A 43-year-old man was ar­rested in Bad­deck, Mon­day fol­low­ing a vi­o­lent as­sault that left an­other man un­con­scious.

RCMP ar­rested Aubrey Paul at a res­i­dence on Old Mar­ga­ree Road af­ter an al­leged in­ci­dent in Wag­mat­cook on Sun­day.

RCMP say a 43-year-old Wag­mat­cook man sus­tained se­ri­ous in­juries to his head af­ter be­ing dragged out of the back seat of a car, kicked in the head and ren­dered un­con­scious.

The in­ci­dent took place on Humes Rear Road, lo­cated on High­way 105, across from the Wag­mat­cook Cen­tre.

Bad­deck RCMP ob­tained an ar­rest war­rant for Paul on Mon­day fol­low­ing a short in­ves­ti­ga­tion. He was charged with ag­gra­vated as­sault and as­sault caus­ing bod­ily harm.

RCMP say Paul ap­peared in court Tues­day and was re­leased on con­di­tions.
