Story of dead dog may encourage more reports

Cape Breton Post - - COMMENT - Bhreagh MacAdam Sydney

I am horrified and heartbroken at the suffering and pain the poor animal must have gone through (SPCA Investigating after Dead Dog Found Outside, Feb. 5)

In my opinion, the so-called owner could have no possible, justifiable reason for leaving this animal in such deplorable conditions with no food or water in sight. It sickens me that another human would treat a living, breathing creature with so little respect and care.

Joe Bona should be applauded for the steps he took towards helping this animal when he noticed signs of neglect and abuse. I hope this story will encourage others to come forward and voice concern when they observe cruelty towards animals so that events such as this are not allowed to happen again.
