Abandoned farmhouse destroyed in blaze
ALBERT BRIDGE — An early morning fire burned down an abandoned farmhouse in Mira Gut on Wednesday. Eight fire departments responded to the scene at the empty building at about 1 a.m. and fought the blaze for three hours, according to Craig MacNeil, platoon chief of the Cape Breton Regional Fire Service. No one at the scene was injured. The building was completely destroyed. There’s no word yet if the fire is suspicious in nature.
