Glace Bay

With sad­dened hearts we re­gret to an­nounce the pass­ing of a pre­cious fa­ther, grand­fa­ther, great-grand­fa­ther and brother at the Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Hos­pi­tal, Syd­ney on June 28, 2015. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Stan­ley and Jessie (Walker) Locke.

Jack is sur­vived by his son, Wal­ter (Cathy), Cal­gary, Alta.; two grand­daugh­ters, Catie (Kyle) and Em­i­lie, and two great-grand­chil­dren, Lyla and Kay­den.

Sur­viv­ing are his broth­ers, Art (Karen) Saint John, N.B., and Tom (Marie), Do­min­ion; also his sis­ters, Deb­o­rah Kopinto, Barre, Mass., USA, Lucy (Bill) Digout, St. Peter’s, Martha Bartlett, St. Stephen, N.B., Doris De­vi­son, Syd­ney, Beu­lah King and Margie (Ralph) Moore, both of Glace Bay, Glo­ria (Bill) Kutcher­awy, Mis­sis­sauga, Ont., and many nieces and neph­ews.

Be­sides his par­ents, he was pre­de­ceased by his wife, Mar­garet, in 1989, his broth­ers, Les, John, Sam, David and Sonny, and his sis­ter, Lovey.

He lived in Toronto for a num­ber of years work­ing for the city and Goodyear but re­turned to Cape Bre­ton and worked for Devco un­til his re­tire­ment.

As per James’ re­quest, cre­ma­tion has taken place and there will be no vis­i­ta­tion. A ser­vice will be held at the Sal­va­tion Army, Union Street, Glace Bay on, Fri­day, July 3, 2015, at 11 a.m. with in­ter­ment at St. John’s Ceme­tery.

Do­na­tions may be made to the Sal­va­tion Army, or to a char­ity of one’s choice.
