Plea date set for man accused of robbery
SYDNEY — A Sydney Mines man accused of an armed robbery in Alder Point was denied bail Monday, and will return to court July 13 for election and plea. Kevin Thomas Forrest, 20, is charged with armed robbery in connection with a June 4 incident in which a man claims he was robbed at knifepoint of cash, jewelry and an iPhone. Latef Reakwon Tag-EI-Din, 19, of the Halifax Regional Municipality, and a 16-year-old girl from Halifax, are also facing charges in the case. The vistim alleges he was travelling in a vehicle with the three accused when he was robbed. He told police he knew only one of the people involved. No injuries were reported.
