On­tario man has trial on sex-re­lated charges resched­uled

SYD­NEY — An On­tario man charged with sex of­fences has had his trial resched­uled for next year. Shaun Derrick LeBlanc, 40, of Wel­land, Ont., is charged with sex­ual in­ter­fer­ence, in­vi­ta­tion to sex­ual touch­ing, sex­ual ex­ploita­tion, anal in­ter­course (no con­sent) and sex­ual as­sault. His trial will now be held Feb. 22-24 in Syd­ney. The sex of­fences al­legedly oc­curred be­tween Jan­uary 2006 and De­cem­ber 2007 in North Syd­ney and in­volve a male com­plainant. LeBlanc was orig­i­nally sched­uled to stand trial on the charges last Tues­day. He was pre­vi­ously re­leased from cus­tody, and or­dered to have no con­tact with the com­plainant, he is not to as­so­ciate with any­one un­der the age of 16 and he is to stay away from places where chil­dren un­der 16 are likely to gather, parks, com­mu­nity pools. A pre-trial con­fer­ence is sched­uled in the case for Sept. 2.
