CBU to host climate change and clean tech discussion
Event today at Verschuren Centre
Carbon pricing, climate change and clean tech will be the focus of a presentation called Modern Prosperity, taking at Cape Breton University today.
According to the university, the presentation is designed to facilitate learning about carbon pricing from the perspective of several jurisdictions and discussion how climate change action, innovation and prosperity can flourish together in Nova Scotia.
“Clean tech solutions are at the core of what we do at the Verschuren Centre, making discussions like this very much a priority for us,” said Andrew Swanson, CEO of the Verschuren Centre, in a press release. “Given its timeliness, I think this presentation will be of interest to many.”
The presentation is organized in partnership with the Ecology Action Centre and will see Catherine Abreu and energy coordinator with Ecology Action Centre, Jeremey Moorhouse, senior analyst for Clean Energy Canada, and Mark Purdon, a climate change policy expert, present on topics that have recently made their way into federal political dialogue.
After the presentations a panel discussion will be moderated by CBU president David Wheeler.
The event begins at 9 a.m. at the Verschuren Centre.
