MACDONALD, Grace Ann
Grace Ann MacDonald, 77 of Baddeck, formerly of North Shore, Victoria County, died July 4, 2015, at Victoria County Memorial Hospital. Born in North Shore, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Tain (MacLeod) MacDonald.
Grace Ann was predeceased by her longtime partner, Chal Fownes; brother, Stewart MacDonald, and sister-in-law, Kathryn MacDonald (Buchanan).
Surviving are brother, Neil (Evelyn), Baddeck; nephew, Donald (Kristen); grandnephews, Dylan, Daniel & Jack, Calgary, and several cousins and extended family.
Grace Ann graduated in 1960 from the Glace Bay General Hospital School of Nursing. After nursing in Boston and Halifax, she spent the majority of her career at the Victoria County Memorial Hospital in Baddeck.
She will be remembered for many things including her love of travel, her sense of humour, picnics, caring for others, generosity and, more than anything, her love of spending time with family and friends.
Grace Ann was an adherent of Knox Presbyterian Church, Baddeck.
At Grace Ann’s request there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 11th, Rev. Brian MacLeod officiating.
A time of fellowship will follow immediately in the church hall. Burial in Ocean View Cemetery, North Shore.

The family expresses sincere appreciation for the care, kindness, and support of Doctors Genge, Ritter, Pahil, MacCormack, Mary MacLeod of Hospice, the staffs at Victoria County Memorial Hospital and Continuing Care, caregivers Carol and Crystal Williams, as well as to all of Grace Ann’s close friends and neighbours.
