A new three-year con­tract to keep mak­ing ‘South Park’

NEW YORK (AP) - The foul­mouthed car­toon char­ac­ters of Com­edy Cen­tral’s “South Park” have turned into tele­vi­sion main­stays - and they’ll be stick­ing around at least through 2019. Com­edy Cen­tral on Wed­nes­day an­nounced a three-year deal to keep the se­ries go­ing, with the team of Trey Parker and Matt Stone con­tin­u­ing to write, di­rect and edit ev­ery episode. Parker and Stone started the se­ries in 1997. The deal ex­tends “South Park” through a 23rd sea­son with 304 orig­i­nal episodes, the net­work said.
