Penny (Ka­ley Cuoco-Sweet­ing) is un­set­tled by her be­lated Valen­tine’s Day gift from Leonard (Johnny Galecki). An episode called “Mys­tery of the Mon­soon” presents a strik­ingly cin­e­matic look at a cat­e­gory of storm that some cul­tures in In­dia view as the soul of that coun­try. The doc­u­men­tary ex­am­ines mon­soons from the per­spec­tives of fish­er­men, farm­ers and wildlife war­dens, all of whose lives are di­rectly af­fected by the heavy rains, as well as the view­point of me­te­o­rol­o­gists, who try to pre­dict the lo­ca­tion, tim­ing and vol­ume of the down­pours.

3 Doc Zone 10 p.m. on (CBC) “Roboti­cize Me” ex­plores the ro­bot revo­lu­tion that is go­ing on through­out mod­ern so­ci­ety, specif­i­cally what is driv­ing the de­sire to cre­ate more life­like, in­tel­li­gent and “emo­tional” ma­chines that go far be­yond mech­a­nized de­vices to take care of drudgery. In­stead, tech­ni­cians are ex­plor­ing how to cre­ate robots that can serve as vi­able com­pan­ions to hu­mans.

4 Way­ward Pines 10 p.m. on (FOX) Who blew up Main Street? That’s the mys­tery for Ethan (Matt Dil­lon) as he tries to de­ter­mine who’s re­spon­si­ble for the ex­plo­sion that se­ri­ously in­jured two Way­ward Pines res­i­dents in the iron­i­cally ti­tled new episode “The Friendli­est Place on Earth.” Harold (Reed Diamond) de­cides not to fol­low through with plans he had with Kate (Carla Gug­ino). Nurse Pam (Melissa Leo) con­ducts a probe to find out if any of the lo­cals’ ac­tiv­i­ties have been con­cealed.

5 Aquarius 10 p.m. on (NBC) Two very dif­fer­ent ac­quain­tances of Ho­diak (David Du­chovny), a priest and a pros­ti­tute, may be able to lend him dif­fer­ent kinds of as­sis­tance with his case in the new episode “Sick City.” With his ca­reer on the up­swing, Ken (Brian F. O’Byrne) re­assesses ev­ery­one and ev­ery­thing in his life. Grey Damon, Gethin An­thony (as Charles Man­son), Emma Du­mont and Claire Holt also star.
