Preliminary hearing set on sex offences
SYDNEY —A 32-year- old Sydney man elected trial by Supreme Court judge and jury Wednesday on two sex offences. Nicholas Christopher MacLellan of Bridget Street is charged with sexual assault and sexual interference. Both offences are alleged to have occurred between January 2010 and April of this year and involve a male victim under the age of 16. MacLellan is now scheduled to return to provincial court May 5 for a preliminary hearing during which a judge will decide whether there is sufficient evidence to warrant sending the case to trial.
