It is with heavy hearts that we an­nounce the sud­den pass­ing of Scott Lawrence Mel­bourne MacLeod who passed away on Mon­day, July 6, 2015 at 55 years of age.

Scott was the son of the late Ruth and Lawrence MacLeod and was pre­de­ceased by a brother Stewart in in­fancy.

Scott was a grad­u­ate of Mor­ri­son Glace Bay High School and St. Mary’s Univer­sity Alumni. Scott was known to many as a lo­cal busi­ness owner of Scotty’s Pizza for 18 years. Pre­vi­ously, he was em­ployed by Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Health Au­thor­ity. Scott was an ac­com­plished ten­nis player. At one time ranked #1 in Nova Sco­tia and he also played in the Canada Games. He also played hockey with St. Mary’s Univer­sity and for 25 years he played with the lo­cal Bombers Hockey Club. He coached mi­nor hockey for over 10 years and was an avid Habs fan. He was a very gen­er­ous per­son and a kind man. Do­nat­ing to many sports teams and or­ga­ni­za­tions. Scott was pas­sion­ate about mu­sic and en­joyed a var­ied and wide col­lec­tion. Scott touched many peo­ples lives and will be sadly missed by those who knew him.

Scott is sur­vived by his lov­ing fam­ily, Patsy Clarke and his sons, Scott, Ron and Lyn­don; aunt, Bev­erly Ni­chol­son (Roy) and best friend, Fred Janes.

Vis­i­ta­tion will take place from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sun­day, July 12 at Pat­ten Fu­neral Home. A fu­neral ser­vice will be held at 11 a.m. on Mon­day, July 13th at St. Mary’s Angli­can Church in Glace Bay.
