Bail hearing set for Eskasoni accused
SYDNEY - An Eskasoni man made a brief court appearance Friday and was remanded pending a bail hearing set for next week. Virick Robert Bernard, 23, of Eskasoni is charged with three counts of break, enter and theft, three counts of breaching court orders, two counts of assault and single counts of possession of stolen goods and mischief. He is one of six people charged in connection with a series of break and enters in June into homes and cottages in the Pipers Cove area. Police report that items taken in the break-ins have been returned to the owners. Bernard is now scheduled to have a bail hearing July 17.
