Green Cove project needs First Nations approval
I believe the proposed war memorial project at Green Cove is being built as a legacy to Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
The federal government, through Parks Canada, has already provided the ‘Never Forgotten War Memorial Foundation’ with $100,000 to begin the process.
The initial group of people who should have been consulted regarding this project would be members of the First Nations community. I’ve seen many newspaper articles with regards to the proposed memorial but nowhere have I seen it mentioned that they have been consulted and have actually given their approval.
Why should they be consulted?
